| | | What will you be lifting - how much does it weigh? It is important to include any carts, pallets, containers or anything else that will be lifted and lowered with the main load. The liftgate's maximum capacity should be greater than the weight of the cargo on the platform.
What will you be lifting - what are the physical dimensions? Again, make sure that a liftgate has a large enough platform to accommodate the load and any carts, pallets, etc., that will be loaded with it. Remember that our measured dimensions (WxD) are for the platform flat loadable area, not including any taper.
What type of truck body will the liftgate be mounted on? Each liftgate model is engineered to fit a specific range of truck body sizes in a particular style, so it is important that you choose the model that can be safely and correctly mounted to your truck.
Are there any special considerations - dock loading, towing, or weight limitations? Some liftgate models can allow for these issues - others preclude them. |
